New Salud Family Health Center Provides State-of-the Art Medical & Dental Care in Fort Morgan

Salud Family Health Center in Fort Morgan is a 39,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art medical facility. The health clinic replaces the older, smaller clinic Salud leased near-by. A $5.7 million project, the new Salud Fort Morgan Clinic opened in May 2011.

The 24,000 square-foot main level houses twenty-four medical exam rooms, seven dental operatories, two procedure rooms, a mental health department and a dispensing pharmacy. The lower, basement level includes the imaging department as well as conference rooms.

Renewable and alternative energy technologies – a signature of T. W. Beck Architects projects – substantially reduces energy costs for the health center. Green technologies and materials create a healthier indoor environment for employees and patients. Several techniques for daylighting bring natural light into the medical facility. “Sola-tubes” are used in the hallways for natural light. North facing clerestories of “Kalwall” panels, bring natural light into the building. Clerestories of “Kalwall” panels, as well as windows, in the Dental Wing provide naturally daylighted dental operatories.

A horizontal ground source geothermal heat pump system provides heating and cooling for the entire building. Approximately forty zones with separate heat pumps and thermostats help provide a high level of comfort for patients as well as staff. The standing seam metal roof was prewired to add future PV solar panels to supplement the electric needs of the clinic.  The interior is designed to be healthy and environmentally-friendly too, using low VOC materials as well as products made from natural or recycled components.

Salud Fort Morgan Clinic is located at 729 E. Railroad Avenue in Fort Morgan, Colorado.
