The Landing at Estes Park

In July of 2015, the Johnstons purchased The Landing. Shortly after, T.W. Beck Architects were brought in to design the remodels of existing spaces along with designing some new spaces. The first step was remodeling some of the existing chalets to modernize them while preserving their original charm. The next step was to create a 6,000 square foot recreation hall that could be used for gatherings as well as weddings. The main level and expansive deck can host gatherings of up to 120 people. It features an authentic barn wood bar, a catering kitchen, an enormous deck overlooking the river, large wooden beams with custom iron detailing, old world light fixtures, a cozy stone fireplace, lofty sliding glass doors, and panoramic windows that frame stunning views of Longs Peak and the sparkling river below. This space at the Landing has become so well known that it was mentioned on the Today Show and in Rocky Mountain Bride. Under the recreation space, four additional suites were added to the property. As well as a spa room, laundry services, and more. Overall, the Landing has 14 rooms and can host 38 people comfortably. The final step that T.W. Beck designed was a remodel of the office space with four additional suites. Then in 2019, we completed construction of 5 new king suites with one being ADA compliant.

During renovations, a number of small tokens—love notes and time capsules—from the original owners were discovered and put back for future generations to discover as renovations progressed.
